Central Interaction System (Blueprint-Only)
A lightweight, modular interaction system for Unreal Engine 5, built entirely in Blueprints.
This system provides a single, central way to trigger interactions from anywhere in your project. Interactions can be automatic (overlap based) or manual (input driven), and can be called from any Blueprint without casting to characters, game modes, or other project-specific classes.
Designed for fast prototyping, small teams, and solo developers who want a clean interaction layer without unnecessary complexity.
Key Features
• Centralized interaction logic via one Blueprint function
• Supports both automatic and manual interactions
• Interface-based design, no casting required
• Blueprint-only, no plugins or C++
• Works alongside existing projects without interference
• Easily extendable for doors, pickups, switches, triggers, and more
How It Works
Drop the Interaction Manager into your level
Add the Interactable Interface to any actor
Call the Request Interaction function from anywhere
That’s it.
The demo project includes examples of automatic pickups and manual “Press E” interactions to show how the system can be used in real gameplay scenarios.
Included
• Core interaction system Blueprints
• Demo level with example interactable actors
• Clear documentation and setup guides
Intended Use
Ideal for:
• Pickups and collectibles
• Doors and switches
• Simple interact prompts
• Prototype gameplay mechanics
• Indie and solo projects
This system focuses on interaction flow, not state persistence or inventory management, allowing it to stay lightweight and flexible.
